Associations
"Since you began working with our organization, you’ve gone far beyond merely gaining publicity and news coverage for us. You’ve helped us craft, develop and deliver our brand message. Unquestionably, your efforts have raised awareness of our organization in business circles in distinctly positive ways. Working with you, our board has focused on our mission. Consequently we are better positioned to influence the news rather than merely 'being in' the news. Thanks for helping our organization move forward."

Case Study:
|
Scenario: The incoming president of a decades-old trade association faced the challenge of reinvigorating an organization depleted after years of membership decline. Largely retired from active leadership, the organization's founders had been replaced on the board by a less-engaged generation. Legacy programs prevailed. Communications efforts and media outreach were sporadic. Conferences, meetings and events played to mainly empty seats.
Program goals: Refocus, reinvigorate and rebuild. Inflection Point program: Following an initial research effort, for Phase I we targeted programming for high-visibility improvement. To create excitement in upcoming meetings, conferences and events, we booked regional industry leaders as speakers, named headline-grabbing topics and promoted programs aggressively in newspapers and social media. Phase II: we updated client's digital media assets and coached members in using social media. Phase III: we developed and placed Thought-Leadership articles and Op-Eds in national, regional and industry newspapers and magazines. To enhance leadership continuity, we promoted a new class of board membership for under-30 professionals and business owners. Results: Our efforts succeeded in showcasing our client in multiple ways. Our meetings, conferences and events got prominent media coverage, which helped sell tickets to future events. The OpEds and Thought-Leadership pieces we wrote and placed, and the news coverage we arranged, amplified our client's voice. An in-depth article in The Wall Street Journal produced first-ever national visibility. Annual membership drive succeeded in reversing the previous two years' decline. |
